Hello, my friends! ‘Tis the season of holiday parties and what better staple to have on hand then the LBD (little black dress)? I have already heard so many ladies say they have no idea what they’re going to wear to this party or that event. So I have put together some LBD suggestions. But these aren’t your sequin-covered jazzy numbers. Those are great and you can definitely find one easily. I shop with the mentality of “how can I use this again?”, so I’ve gathered a more practical selection that you can get some long term use from.
This strappy midi number is everything. It’s a light flowy material, so it can be worn year-round. The styling above is a very practical day-to-night look. I would dress it up with a stiletto bootie, lose the jacket, and throw a fur collar on for holiday fun. If you’re not a minimalist, amp up the jewelry with layered necklaces and lots of bangles and bracelets. This with sandals would be a dream for a beach vacation, too. For a super easy day look, I’d style it back to some cool white-sole sneakers, oversized shades and a hat. And how chic is that midi length?!
Look #2 Leather Shift
The leather shift dress is an excellent choice this time of year. I like the sleeveless option because it makes layering easier. For a dressy night, I’d layer on some sparkly chunky necklaces. Think mixed metals and “diamonds”. For shoes, you could do a strappy heel for a more traditional look or a pointy stiletto bootie for a hipper look. This would look super chic as a day look. I’d love it with an oversized marled cardigan and boots or sneakers. Depending on where you work, you could make this office-appropriate with a cream turtleneck underneathe or white button down underneathe and a gray wool blazer over top.

Look #3 Maxi Wrap
I love a good wrap dress because it accents all the curves of the female figure. But why not have some fun with it and try it in a maxi length? First of all, it will keep those leggies warm, plus the longer length lends itself to some of those more formal parties we have this time of year. And I love how it was styled below with the ankle-wrap sandals. Of course if you want to glam it up more, add a big statement earring or necklace. And for day, I’d do an ankle boot with a stacked he, a wide brim hat, a simple charm necklace and a lacey black bralet to tone down the cleavage factor.

Look #4 Swing Dress
A swing dress is soooooo comfy and that’s pretty important in my book. It’s like a super stylish sack. Sounds cute, right? Well it is. And the little key-hole cutout adds just the right dose of sex appeal. How great would these look with strappy leather booties? Or a suede over-the-knee boot? Tall gladiator sandals in warm weather? Please. ‘Nough said.

Look # Sweater Dress
My first instinct was to pick a long-sleeved oversized sweater dress, because I love everything about that, but the whole “I’m wearing a big sack all the time” isn’t for everyone. So how about a sleeveless turtleneck version? Midi length? Perfection. Statement earrings and loads of bracelets make for easy accessorizing. Shoe options are wide open: conservative pump, pointy toe bootie, dressy strappy sandal. And if you need some warmth, a fitted blazer or moto jacket should do the trick.
